GIS Event, Killeen, TX,
Killeen Conference Center

It was a great day at the GIS event today with more than 1,300 kids present.  We had many kids visit our Lakestillhousecleanwater table, and we passed out 60 teacher packets to be used for further education about the importance of keeping our lakes and water ways clean and pure for future generations to come.

Here is a sample of our Teacher packets that were handed out to area Teachers.

And another great event under our belt!.....The CENTEX SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES CONFERENCE.  It lasted for three days, January 27th, 28th and 29th 2010.  Many hundreds of people showed up every day for three days who shared in our planning goals that have long-term environmental, economic and social benefits for the region.

This Regional planning effort will establish long-term goals that respect the cultural heritage of the region and its residents while offering services to provide a high quality of life: ensuring material resources; promoting sustainable development and land use; creating efficient transportation systems; and enhancing economic development that fuels a thriving, desirable community now and into the future.

Below you will find a PDF link that will give a comprehensive Summary of Goals and Objectives for the Centex Sustainable Communities Conference, all of its Strategic Goals comprised of Visionary progressive Leaders, government and citizens that are change-oriented and embrace the needs and values of the Community making Centex the most desirable region.  The PDF contains 47 pages of  Metrics, a list of all the stakeholders, and a most detailed list of objectives touching every aspect of our Centex Community for the here and now and the future to come.
